AI can help sales reps solve the blank page problem and produce tailored messaging fast. But even the best LLM outputs may need some tweaking now and then.

Reps can reprompt-and-pray (or edit copy line by line) while they swivel back and forth between a chatbot and their sales execution platform. Or they can modify on the fly with an AI assistant designed to help them quickly nail messaging at the last mile.

In this playbook we’ll show you how to enhance AI-generated outbound copy at speed and make sure your messaging always hits the mark.

What you’ll need

Step 1: Generate message snippet

Let’s say we’re an SDR or AE.

Someone on our team—maybe a sales manager or demand gen leader—has already created AI message snippets in Common Room that we can use to draft contextual, relevant outbound copy for any prospect in our book of business in real time.

The AI-authored messaging—which pulls from every relevant first-, second-, and third-party signal captured in Common Room—is incredibly helpful, but there are times when we want to fine-tune the copy without having to rewrite it by hand.

First we’d activate a message snippet. We can do that in one of two ways.

One option is to select a message snippet directly from a contact’s Person360™ profile in Common Room using RoomieAI™.

The other option is adding a contact to an Outreach sequence that has an AI message snippet mapped to it.

No matter how we generate a message snippet, once it’s in front of us, we can rapidly iterate on the messaging with a sales-friendly AI writing assistant.

Step 2: Edit message snippet with AI assistant

Below the message snippet preview in Common Room we’ll see a writing assistant option.

We’d simply input whatever changes we want to see in the copy using conversational language and our assistant will update it in real time.

How to reference different data points and buying signals, updates to messaging structure or formatting, changes to tone and style, tweaks to copy length—we can iterate with our copywriting collaborator until we’re 100% satisfied.

Once we are, we’d either hit Save changes or Add to sequence. We can copy the text with a click or let our SEP send for us.
